Toenails, fingernails and feet In your space at 35,000 feet? How do you feel when you get a middle seat? Have you found something to be went by and a lot of crazy stuff going on again? Yeah, man, the world is turning with all kinds of crazy everything.
Speaker 2:Okay, we always catch up. Okay, there was this lady. She's running behind this ticket counter. Did you see the video?
Speaker 1:No bud, what's going on? This is another crazy airport adventure, right?
Speaker 2:Oh yeah, absolutely so. They show this woman. She's running behind the ticket counter screaming God knows what, but the security's all around her, all the airport personnel looking at her like she's nuts, which they ain't going to do nothing. So security is trying to chase her back and forth and there's this big old boy. He's trying to chase her around and she's ducking and weaving and bobbing. She looks like an NFL running back right. She's like boom, boom going underneath the straps. Well, this big old boy tries to tackle her and he goes down like a rock. I mean, he went down hard.
Speaker 1:Why was she bobbing and weaving? Like, why was she running behind the counter? I mean, do we have any information about that? Like why she was up there, what was she doing?
Speaker 2:I have no idea, man. They had these videos out there. You don't know. They were just sitting there saying this woman was going crazy in this ticket counter. But get back to the story, man. You're just changing up. This girl goes underneath these things. She's dodging, weaving, going back. There's like three or four. You ever seen them chase one of them people out on the field and they're like this dude's like bobbing. Well, this is her inside the terminal.
Speaker 1:The fan on the field.
Speaker 2:Yeah, in the ticket area. So that big old boy, he went down like a rock. Let me tell you something you are never going to leave that one down because, you see him, he went down hard like a big thud and he couldn't get back up. Now she's still moving around like a spider monkey and these guys are just chasing her around. They get her behind the ticket counter and they finally get her cornered and you have no idea. But people are crazy. Oh man what would make you do that.
Speaker 1:It doesn't make any sense. That's why I was asking that question Like what spurred this on? Like what made this lady run around and be a complete idiot?
Speaker 2:You couldn't give me a good enough reason. You could not give me a good I don't know if you've ever seen this.
Speaker 1:There was this video out there and, uh, and some of these videos that we talk about too, we're going to try to post these, too, so that you could actually see what we're talking about. But, um, so you can go to Facebook and see our videos or, uh, our Instagram, all that stuff, but there was this video, I don't know. Did you see the one where?
Speaker 2:the lady like literally disrobed.
Speaker 1:Oh yeah, yeah, stripped naked like she's stripped naked right there at the in front of the ticket counter. I I mean she's screaming, yelling, I mean like it is the most bizarre thing, like she just starts taking off these clothes and she wasn't running around, she was just acting a total fool. It was like, I mean, what possessed her Was this because she couldn't check her bag, or she had paper or baggage?
Speaker 2:I don't know, but the funny part is when you see a guy running around with a little jacket trying to cover her up. Yeah, he's like, excuse me, excuse me.
Speaker 1:You ain't got no damn clothes on. I remember at the end of this video there was a lady that was standing in the baggage line and she literally brought over a coat or something to lay on top of her Because she's laying on the floor, or something like that.
Speaker 2:But what you've got to love is all the other people with their phones out going. Yeah, I'm taking a little video here, a naked lady running around. Yeah, I mean always crazy stuff in the airport. I just say this all the time about, about, about this show. We'll never, ever run out of things to talk about ever, oh no.
Speaker 1:I mean there's always something every day that somebody is doing that's. That is just absolutely ludicrous. I mean you don't, we can't make this up. No, no, like this is, this is too easy. We can talk about this forever, because people always are doing stupid shit.
Speaker 2:Yep, it's either in the baggage area, in the uh boarding area, in the terminal, in the ticket counter checking. There's going to be a crazy person somewhere yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1:When people congregate in areas, things happen.
Speaker 2:Yeah, and then you get them on a plane. They happen too, oh yeah.
Speaker 1:Unfortunately, we would like to not to happen.
Speaker 2:Right, absolutely, oh my God.
Speaker 1:Less is more.
Speaker 2:So what else is going on with you?
Speaker 1:Oh man, you know what, if it's getting ready to come up with me, I'm getting ready to have a full knee replacement. I mean, you know this old surgery stuff, you know like, oh, being old is not a good thing, and I'm going to tell you something like this is. This is a kind of like a educational piece for flight attendants that are out there. I've been doing this 34, almost 35 years, finishing up here and I'm six two, I walked down the aisles. The number one thing that happens on a plane. That's like the biggest hazard for me is people hitting my damn knees. Knees, I mean people sticking their legs out, sticking their arms out, all that stuff. Elbows, I mean it's right at where my knees is. So I'm like my knees have been pounded for like 34 years of being battered and bruised.
Speaker 2:And usually they're like side shots too.
Speaker 1:Oh man, it's just, it's, it's out of control, I mean. And then the G forces that we are going through up in the plane and like trying to keep our balance and all that stuff. It's super hard. We've been down on with our knees and all that stuff on the plane. This job is really, really detrimental on your body parts, and the knees are one of the ones that are bad. I mean, you've got to keep yourself in good health, but it all adds up.
Speaker 2:We have a lot of flight attendants, even like yourself, that they have to go out with surgeries. A lot of them they have knee, like you. They have shoulder because of bags. They have shoulder because out with surgeries. A lot of them they have knee, like you. They have shoulder because of bags. They have shoulder because of overhead bends. They have hip problems.
Speaker 1:I mean, our joints on our body and stuff are super like they're in jeopardy through this job. But my knee surgery is this is the first of I got to get both of them replaced, so this is the first. But my knee surgery is this is the first of I got to get both of them replaced, so this is the first of my knee surgery. So I'm getting ready to go do that and not looking forward to that. So we're going to try to do our shows.
Speaker 2:Oh no, we're going to do a show. I'm going to wheel his ass up here. There's not a question. I will wheel his ass right up to the microphone. He's doing a question. I will wheel his ass right up to the microphone. He's doing a show. We ain't going to skip a beat.
Speaker 1:not one beat, that's right, we have momentum going right now, but knee surgery is getting ready to come up and man, I'm telling you people out there, pay attention to what you're doing on the plane and all that good stuff. Keep yourself healthy, watch your body parts. Don't let these people hurt you out there inadvertently just by them being themselves on the plane.
Speaker 2:Yeah, and if he starts whining I'm going to tell him suck it up, suck it Big baby man, you got to get your damn knee done.
Speaker 1:It's okay, man, I'll have drugs.
Speaker 2:All right, let's go on to it. That's right. You will not be fine. I will have drugs. You will not be fine. All right, let's talk about the rant, big rant, right? What's that this one is? I know you hate this People reclining their seat, not allowing the person to get into their row.
Speaker 1:Man, people come on Like they get on the plane and they think they're in this like chase lounger. They get on there and they just like flop into the seat. First thing they do is hit that button, recline. It's like you got people behind you. I don't care what aircraft you're on, there's always somebody behind you trying to get into the row and you're reclining into the row. I you trying to get into the row and you're reclining into the row. I mean, the space on the plane already it's too narrow, right, oh yeah, and then? So now you've got, you got. You know, this little grandma that's trying to sidestep slide into the row because asshole 20 year olds recline his seat, or business guys recline them, see, because he wants to set up his laptop and and give nasty look the person trying to slide in yeah, because, Because they're bumping his seat Exactly Like.
Speaker 1:I mean like this come on, people, you got, you've got to be more considerate to everybody. I mean, once we get all on the plane, we get done with the boarding process and we're all sitting there. You know, there's a time when you recline your seat after takeoff.
Speaker 2:Because somebody's got a dang drink on their tray table. If you throw it back there, it ends up in their lap.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah, I mean you know people you don't know we don't need to be banging and hitting and all that stuff. You know throwing back your seat because I got to tell you you know, when you do all those violent actions on a plane, all it does is lead to mechanicals.
Speaker 2:Oh, okay, just talking about that. One Guy comes to the front. I'm standing there. You ever have somebody that comes and they just want you to move, but they don't say it.
Speaker 1:They're not communicating, they're just kind of like looking at you.
Speaker 2:Like you're just supposed to jump to the side, like you're intimidated and you're going to be jumping. Exactly, instead of if you just say, excuse me, I'm moving.
Speaker 1:Yeah. But they just kind of stare at you and they're like bathroom.
Speaker 2:Yeah, yeah, it's right back here.
Speaker 1:It's behind me as soon as you say excuse me.
Speaker 2:Exactly so. He does this whole thing and I'm sitting there going, wait a minute, he's getting. He's getting mad at me because you're coming up to me and being this way. So I tell him it's right here. So then I move out of the way. This guy takes the cockpit door, slams it shut, slams the cockpit door. Slam the door shut. And I turned around and I said don't slam the door.
Speaker 1:So this is during boarding right During boarding. Yeah. I said don't slam the door, so this is during boarding right During boarding, yeah.
Speaker 2:I said don't slam the door. He said what did you say? I said don't slam the door. This is not your airplane, okay, this is not your place to do anything like that, because when you do it you break something. And when you break something, right, this is what happens. We have a mechanical delay, overhead bend. You come in, slam an overhead bend, you slam a cockpit door, something breaks off of something and we have to have maintenance. Come on and it ends up being a lengthy delay because you just can't close a door or an overhead bend. Yeah, now this guy goes and he does this. Now he's all ticked off at me and I'm thinking wait a minute, if you just came up and say excuse me, there's a bathroom, it's just right here.
Speaker 1:Oh, you gave him attitude bud. You were in his way. You're popping his bubble. Exactly, it's his world. Get out of your way.
Speaker 2:I was like you got to be kidding me. They do this stare down. Yeah, they do the stare down shit. I'm like, okay, well, I'll play that little game. So I go back there and I'm thinking I'm just going to be nice to this guy just to see what happens. So I'm nice to him Kill him with kindness.
Speaker 2:And here's the funny part Through this entire flight after this, this guy's actually a nice guy. Me and him start talking, and we're talking about the baseball game and everything. He ends up being a super nice guy and all I could think about the whole time is why did you do that other crap at the beginning of this? Why did you do?
Speaker 1:that Because he was floating around in his bubble.
Speaker 2:But there's no reason. It doesn't make any sense. People stop doing stuff like that. You don't need to do that. This person in front of you is me and I will show you the bathroom. This person in front of you is me and I will show you the bathroom. I'll hold the damn door open for you.
Speaker 1:Sure.
Speaker 2:But you do not have to come up and brace me. Like you know, get out of my way.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:That doesn't make any sense to me.
Speaker 1:We don't need attitudes.
Speaker 2:No, it just doesn't make any sense. Just be nice to people. You're going to get a lot more. But he ended up being a nice guy and we actually were talking through the fight Incredible.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:But you know it goes back to what we said about Ted Lasso. Right, you just change somebody's attitude just by being nice.
Speaker 1:Yeah, being nice man, but you know this segues into the seat back. Right back to the seat back thing. Like I love also the people that come on and you know they recline the seat and they're like well, it's broke.
Speaker 2:Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's broke. Well, you got to push the damn button.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it's not probably broke, let's find out. We're going to test it here. And then they don't realize that I'm that flight attendant, that if they say it's broke and we're starting to taxi out, you might be taxiing back to the gate because your seat's broke. You can't sit there Right, you can't sit, you're not going to sit there. And one of the most enjoyable parts of being a flight attendant sometimes is you had that first class passenger that's being a jerk and my seat's broke. I taxi back and they now have like blocked that seat and they got to move them back to the economy class. That's a beautiful thing.
Speaker 2:Because of his seat was broken. All you had to do is just sit there. I know it's amazing sometimes how people are and they don't have to be.
Speaker 1:Yeah, they don't have to be. I mean, you just be reasonable people.
Speaker 2:Okay, here's another one. Got to go straight from that one. People were putting their nasty feet on the walls.
Speaker 1:Dude, you know me, and feet don't anywhere. Do not agree.
Speaker 2:But on a wall, on a wall in front of everybody, see, there's nasty toenails and feet sticking straight up.
Speaker 1:You don't need to show or expose your feet anywhere in a public place. I mean, it's just not there. You know people have some bad feet.
Speaker 2:How about the person that's in the back when they take their foot and they sit on the armrest of the person in front of them?
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah. What is that? Yeah, I think I just saw a video online. There was a gal that was doing that and she was like she was getting mad at the guy. The guy kept like bumping up, bumping her foot off with the elbow, and then she kept putting it back. Like I'm like how can you be so bold to be doing this? Like this is somebody else's space. And I'm going to tell you right now, if this happens to me and I'm not working and I'm a passenger on a plane, there might be a fight.
Speaker 2:I don't care who you are.
Speaker 1:Do not put your feet on me.
Speaker 2:I just don't understand why you put your nasty feet up on the wall. There's so many other people that come here. And those walls don't get washed.
Speaker 1:Yeah, nobody on a plane is washing walls.
Speaker 2:Exactly, but yet they still do it. They just put those nasty feet and you're looking at them somebody else looking forward and you're like, oh my God, look at those. Those are nasty feet I've got to look at.
Speaker 1:Yeah, if you want to catch something, touch a wall.
Speaker 2:Yeah, exactly Like I said. They just stick them on the armrest. Or somebody's back there doing yoga, yoga and there's two feet standing straight up in the air.
Speaker 1:I'm really glad that out of COVID that one thing happened, that they actually started passing out those wipes, you know, coming on the plane, cleaning the plane and stuff. I mean that is somewhat of a help. But I mean people stop with the feet, that's so nasty.
Speaker 2:Hey, this this happened probably about a week ago, but also disgusting what they do. They clipped your toenails. Oh gross. What is that? We were waiting for the plane. The plane was coming inbound. We're sitting there with one of our gate agents and we're sitting there and here's this woman. She just starts clipping her toenails and the gate agent was like I've had enough of this and she goes, stop it, she goes, stop doing it, she goes. That is the most disgusting thing that you could possibly do.
Speaker 1:Yeah, man, I mean just I'm telling you like feet are disgusting. And they do it on the airplane, I mean why would you do any type of nail clipping whatsoever I mean feet, hands, any of that Like? Why are you going to pop your DNA and throw it all over the freaking cabin?
Speaker 2:But here's the funny part of it when you listen to us talk about this, we're not the only ones, trust me. There's 98% of all those passengers. If they were sitting right next to you, they'd be thinking that you are nasty yeah, and the other two percent is drunk, so they don't count.
Speaker 1:But I'm telling you right now it is so nasty, even like anytime you're like dealing with I'm. I'm a person like I do not like feet, as you have already probably understood. Nails like long nails, long female. How do you feel about that?
Speaker 2:It's the painting of them when they start doing that crap on the airplane because of the smell.
Speaker 1:For me it's the length, it's like there's a certain point where it's too long.
Speaker 2:Oh, I don't like those at all.
Speaker 1:You get to these gals like I mean their nails are as long as their fingers, like I mean that is, I'm like how do you function in life? Like trying to like operate things, I mean to watch them. It's a whole, it's a vent.
Speaker 2:But on the plane. But on the plane, though, the annoyance is the painting Like when they go in there and they start. They start cleaning off their, their nail pile, you know we shut that down in a minute.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I mean, the first thing is that most airlines have a policy out there. You is that most airlines have a policy out there. You can't be painting your nails because of the fumes. I mean it's so toxic, those fumes on the plane. I mean people go crazy about that stuff. As soon as you open up, as soon as you open that nail polish up or the lacquer or whatever you're doing with your nails, that stuff just like permeates all through the cabin. I mean instantaneously everybody's hearing it. It's crazy. But but dude, yeah, I agree, stop with those damn nails.
Speaker 2:Oh my God, I know, I cannot stand it, it's just gross.
Speaker 2:I cannot stand it. Hey, listen, you know something? I had a quick layover story for you, All right, Got to throw this in there because I was flying with this girl. Have you ever flown with one of those people that they love to engage people? Oh yeah, you know how, when a person comes on, a person's got a big, big ugly flower and they're like hey, where'd you get that flower at? They want to engage with them. You got that funky-looking hat on. They engage conversationally.
Speaker 1:Oh yeah, they're almost that awkward engagement. You're just asking about stuff, just to be asking.
Speaker 2:Just stupid things, and you're like that is the weirdest ask, you know? Yeah, exactly, but they're actually looking to get a response from them and what they do is they engage from the response that they get from them, right, so she's like this, I mean, and she's just that personality, I mean, she's really funny and when she engages with these people she gets in these long conversations. They love her and she's just a really funny person, but she engages, right, she does that. So she was on a layover and it didn't stop on the plane. Her engaging doesn't stop.
Speaker 2:So she's walking down the street. She went to go get something to eat and a lot of these places we stay in and you know they're cities, oh yeah, lots of homeless people around, lots of homeless Encampments, sometimes, right, oh sure. So she's walking along the street and she notices that there's this homeless guy on the sidewalk and she's got to go past him and he squatted down on the sidewalk and here's this other female walking the other direction. Now she's like a streetwalker, so she's walking up Homeless and a streetwalker all in the same corner.
Speaker 1:It's the city, sean, I got you.
Speaker 2:It's the city, so I mean I don't have to tell you anymore. You know we go there all the time. But anyway she's walking up and again she's got this engaging personality. So as she's walking up she's about at the same location where the streetwalker comes up and she bends over and she hugs and kisses this homeless guy on the side of the street. And then she gets up and they have a little interaction and this other flight attendant goes. Oh my God, do we have to kiss the troll to pass? And he goes bitch, who are you calling a troll? She goes my heart. Oh no, she didn't. Oh my God, she goes. My heart went down in my shoes. She goes. I got it out of there as fast as I could. She goes. Went back to the hotel, got in my room, looked out the peephole and thought, man, I hope this guy don't follow me back.
Speaker 1:Oh my gosh, that's so funny because I'm pretty sure I know this person too and they are like you have to. She thought she was probably actually being kind, but she just says awkward kind of stuff she's just a person that engages, and what it was is that she was just doing something.
Speaker 2:She thought she was being kind of cute and funny, called the dude a troll. Yeah, exactly, I mean all right. Well, I mean look like I told you it's downtown, you're in a city, sure, you're going to run into those people, but oh my God, I was dying.
Speaker 1:I thought that was the funniest thing I mean come on, come on.
Speaker 2:You got to love those stories, though.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah, because I mean, first of all, you don't know about homeless. I mean, I've been, you know, we've both been cities and saw homeless everywhere and some of them were crazy as hell. Some of them are, you know. Oh, you're normal, you know, like you don't know what you're gonna get and how they're gonna react to things, and uh, uh, yeah, it was crazy.
Speaker 2:well, she got a reaction, didn't she? It was like dying.
Speaker 1:That was too fun, dude I, I, I gotta throw a homeless thing out there. We were, uh, my wife and I were in new're in New York, and we are, you know, trouncing around the city doing things whatever, and we bump into this homeless guy. We're at battery park. I don't know if you know where that's at, but so it's where the Liberty commercials are all filmed, all that stuff. Battery park there Anyhow, this there Anyhow. This homeless guy is like going into the garbage and he's like digging into garbage. And you know, my wife, she she'll order a sandwich and she has a half sandwich. So she's, she walks over to this guy and she sees him digging into garbage. She's like, hey, would you like the other half of my sandwich? And the homeless guy looks at her and he says what is it? And she's like it's a tuna salad. He's like, no thanks. And he starts digging. I mean you're, you're, you're like what?
Speaker 2:Yeah, you're picky about what you are. Are you kidding me? Yeah, I don't like tuna salad.
Speaker 1:The garbage got a better selection.
Speaker 2:Oh my God, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1:That was something that happened in our adventures of traveling around.
Speaker 2:Anytime you go into cities like that, you definitely got to be careful too, on the streets in those cities.
Speaker 1:Yeah, you just don't know how people are going to react to certain things, no matter if you're nice or not.
Speaker 2:Hey, you know what I like to talk about too is, you know, a feel-good moment. I love these feel good moments when you board an aircraft, and this is for the passengers. Okay, they board an airplane, so they're all ready to go back to their seat. They already know they're in the B seat or the E seat. Those are center seats.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I mean you're getting on the plane thinking, oh I, I'm gonna be squished in there, yep Next three or four hours, don't know who's going to be next to me. It's like a total crapshoot. You're just like uh yeah, there's anxieties involved in that middle seat Right.
Speaker 2:So yeah, and then when they get there they're usually a lot of times the people that travel a lot they'll buy the AC seat and they'll buy the C seat and they'll leave the B seat open.
Speaker 1:Yeah, so the window in the aisle is being bought and they'll leave that middle seat open In chance. Maybe it might be empty.
Speaker 2:Yeah, but then they load all their shit in that seat. So this person comes back and they're probably a nice person and they look at the people and you know how the people act like they, they don't. They're like they don't see them. They're looking straight ahead, try to ignore them, like yeah, exactly, and you're standing right there and you're watching this whole thing play out and this person goes uh, yeah, excuse me, I'm, I'm in the b seat, yeah. And then all of a sudden they're like oh, they're grabbing their crap.
Speaker 2:We were hoping that that seat stayed open and now we've got to move all of our stuff and they start rolling their eyes. What a damn feel-good moment. You just made that person feel right. They just came on the plane going to the same location that you're going. And you just made them feel horrible.
Speaker 1:Yeah, welcome to our row.
Speaker 2:We're going to be best friends over the next four hours.
Speaker 1:Let's get to know each other.
Speaker 2:So then they move all their crap and they stick it underneath their seats. They're disgusted, and what do they do after that?
Speaker 1:Yep.
Speaker 2:They arm wrestle for the armrest.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Because they act like both of them are theirs.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it's amazing, man. I mean honestly the armrest should be, the middle seat, person's Should be.
Speaker 2:I mean you're squished in there. Hey, we've been on those seats.
Speaker 1:You can lean left, you can lean right, whatever if you're in the aisle or window, but the middle seat you're just compact in there. I mean there's nowhere to go. I mean, and how are you going to put your elbows inside the armrest?
Speaker 2:I mean, it's just those people just want you to fold your arms and look straight ahead.
Speaker 1:That's it, they don't want you to do anything else and you can literally take a picture of most people in the middle seats and you see so many rows of people that their arms folded like sitting in the middle seat. You know, trying trying to be polite, you know it's, it's a shame.
Speaker 2:And then the best part of it is when they start having a conversation, like that person's not even there. They lean over and they're like do you want this, or do you want that, or hey, you know, and that person's not even in the middle, Right, they just keep they just keep the conversation.
Speaker 1:It's usually like a couple right.
Speaker 2:Yeah, exactly that's what I said. They usually they'll purchase the A and the C seat and they'll just want that middle seat open. And on our planes it's rarely ever open, it's always full.
Speaker 1:Yeah, every now and then you get the reasonable couple that's like they're trying to do that and they say okay, you know, we'll slide over one way or another. Would you like a window or would you like an aisle? So that does happen out there. But but yeah, I know those people.
Speaker 2:Yeah, absolutely. But you know again, and this and that goes back to what we were just talking about, about being in a mood right, you're in a mood for the day. You ever been in a real crappy mood when you started your day?
Speaker 1:Oh, man, you know, I mean we've got to do, we've got to go to work, just like everybody else in the world. You know, and some days we want to go and some days you don't.
Speaker 2:But you ever just been in a crappy mood where you just, like you, showed up. You're just not in a good mood.
Speaker 1:Oh yeah, oh yeah. Something happened the day before or something happened in my life and then I'm just, I get there and I'm just like you know, you got to like turn it on, like it's a force to like I've got to now be nice to people with everything and I don't even want to talk to people.
Speaker 2:Exactly, and you're on the plane and you're in this crappy mood and I'm a person that always believes things happen for a reason. Oh, heck yeah.
Speaker 1:You know what? There is divine intervention in this world. We are being watched and people and guided into our lives, for sure.
Speaker 2:So when you're standing there, the boarding process, and this person comes on board the airplane and they could have a disability, they could have a problem, we could have a child.
Speaker 1:that has cancer.
Speaker 2:Oh man, we see it all and for whatever reason, all of a sudden, your shitty mood just changes, doesn't it? Heck yeah, and you just all of a sudden. You just want to be that better person.
Speaker 1:Absolutely. I mean, we got so many reminders in life that are right in front of us on board the plane all the time People come on. So many reminders in life that are right in front of us on board the plane all the time that people come on. You know, we have those, um, what are those? Uh, uh, I want to say miracle flights, but it's not just the uh, what's the? What's the word for that flight that with make a wish?
Speaker 1:make a wish yeah, so we get those make a wish flights. I mean, I was just on a. That was just like last week I had a Make-A-Wish kid. This is a great story. He's probably about six, seven years old and he was on his Make-A-Wish flight down to Orlando, did Disney for a week and he was on his Make-A-Wish that he had beat cancer. So it's not always just like a bad story. It is also these beautiful stories that these kids and beat these ailments that they have and he was, you know, for his you know last run and everything they gave him this make a wish flight to be you know cheer on their success of being cancer. It was awesome.
Speaker 2:They, you know, and that's that's the one thing that I absolutely love daily, because I actually look for those things. I look for the inspiration of other people to um, to inspire even me to be a better person. And you know, everybody, I mean, we all go through our things, but, you know, what makes me appreciate every day is when I see a person that is less fortunate than myself and they have this incredible positive mental attitude, and and I automatically I go through my head how can I have this crappy attitude? And this person has this incredible attitude.
Speaker 1:Yeah, you know what To be able to recognize that. That's what more of that needs to happen in this world, like people need to be able to open their eyes, stop putting themselves into these bubbles. You know, stay. You know.
Speaker 2:Look at the world, look what's happening around I think that that happens a lot because people they're so engaged in their phones anymore that they they don't even look up. And you see these people and they do. You know, they're just amazing, they're amazing to me. They come on board and they have these disabilities and they have this amazing personality.
Speaker 2:They have this amazing positive personality. And here you are. You are feeling sorry for yourself, or something was a little bit hard or a little bit difficult and this person. Just for them to walk is difficult, but they don't look at it that way.
Speaker 1:Yeah, this reminds me of just last week. I'm walking out of the airport and my knees are like just, I'm in pain all the time. I struggle to get in and out of work and you know, I sometimes get done with the end of the day and I'm in a lot of pain and I'm thinking this is miserable. I'm not feeling good. I'm not in a bad position, but this just happened just the other day. I'm walking out and I see this gentleman. He's coming down the concourse and he's on a skateboard and he's pushing himself through the concourse on a skateboard. Well, you're probably all thinking that he's standing on the skateboard. Well, he's not. His body was on the skateboard. That's incredible. Yeah, it was just him on a skateboard, his torso on the skateboard, wheeling himself to the gate. Him on a skateboard, his torso on the skateboard, wheeling himself to the gate, traveling just like any other passenger. It is a. I mean, I just flipped myself around. I was like my knee problem ain't too bad.
Speaker 2:No, because that's exactly. What I'm saying is that you will look at your situation because you're going to get fixed.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, going to get fixed. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. We uh, where we have the ability right now to fix each other in the you know or or the technology out there is to be able to help us and all that stuff. But there are people out there that are beyond that.
Speaker 2:Uh, you know, fix who's that still have a great positive speaker that he, he doesn't have. Uh, he doesn't have any arms or legs, but he's incredible.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah, yeah, I had him on a flight once and he was sitting in the first guy. I think his name is Nick Boychik. Nick Boychik and Nick Voychik is a um, one of the most remarkable. He goes around the nation and he actually does um, uh, you know, positive speaking and all these motivational speaking to all these people, I mean he goes, that's where he makes his, that's his career, right, and uh, he is amazing. I mean I had him, he was sitting up in first. I remember him and we talked almost the whole flight. The most personable, positive person you have ever seen in your life. No arms, no legs, and just it ain't stopping him.
Speaker 2:I know it's incredible. I actually seen him and I seen him speak before. He is incredible. Actually seen him and I seen him speak before he's a. He is incredible. I mean, just listening to him inspires you to do more and go out there and do more things, even with your life, because every day is a gift. You don't really, if you don't really understand that every day that you have on this earth is a gift.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah. You need to be mindful of all the things that we we really have in our world, our life.
Speaker 2:So, just to let you know people, if you're having that crappy day, all you have to do is look around and look for that inspiration. And if you take the time to look for that inspiration, the answer is going to hit you right in the face and your whole day is going to change. It will change on a dime because you will find that inspiration. I have so many people in my life that every day they wake up with pain. Okay, they wake up with pain. And when people board the airplane all the time, they're like how's your day going? And I tell them I'm upright and I'm moving without pain. I'm good. Yeah, I'm good. I am absolutely. I'm 100% good because I do not feel that pain. So my day is going to get better. And if it's not getting better, I'm going to find something on that flight in that that's going to make my day better. And trust me when I'm telling you it's out there for everybody every single day.
Speaker 1:Yeah, Challenge yourself to look for that. Challenge yourself to look for all those people that are worse off than you are, that you can understand and have perspective to say, hey, I know I'm in a good place. You know, be positive about your life, where you're at, how, um, you influence people as well as people are influencing you. You should always be looking for the most positive things out there. And, and, and you know, even when you, when you're, when you're coming into work, and you think, and you know, even when you're coming into work, and you think, oh, you know, this is terrible, you know this is terrible.
Speaker 1:Whatever just happened to me. You know, I just had that accident and I'm going to tell you right now. We pulled over to the side of the road and the first thing I told everybody the gal that hit that caused it she already admitted it, but I had told her straight off. I was like, hey, we all have those days. These are just objects, these are vehicles that can be repaired and replaced Absolutely yeah, yeah, that's exactly it, and we need to remember that.
Speaker 2:So take the time. If you're having a bad day, trust me, take a look around. Your answer is there. There's a reason. There's a reason, but all you have to do is take a look around. You're going to find that answer and your day is going to change. I guarantee it will. Mine does all the time, especially when I'm feeling—I hate feeling sorry for myself. There's one of my biggest things is when I start feeling pity and sorry for myself. Can't stand it. So I automatically I look around and I find someone and I'm like you're my inspiration for the day, because I'm going to be better because of you. Heck, yeah. So find that inspiration and, trust me, your day will get a ton better. All right, let's talk about destinations.
Speaker 1:Destinations, man. Our destination this week is going to be Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
Speaker 2:I love Jackson Hole man love that place.
Speaker 1:You're talking about one of the most beautiful places on earth. I mean 360 degrees. You're just looking around yourself. There's Grand Tetons there, this beautiful valley in the middle of Wyoming. You are just. It is amazing. I mean anybody that's been there will tell you just magical. I mean there's so many just neat places to see and to do and just to see the earth in its majesty.
Speaker 2:You know, when you're driving from the airport, this little bitty airport stuck out there and they have not ruined this part of the country. No, it's amazing the car, when you're parked, you're driving out and you're driving, all of a sudden it's just like a two-lane road out in the middle of nowhere, and then you'll see this huge herd of elk.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I mean, right next to the airport is this gigantic national elk refuge and if you, during the seasons depending on what season you're there, you know, in the wintertime they actually come down and they feed all these elks. They put all these like pellets and different stuff that out there, that there that help feed the elk. But they know this and they come down in herds and you're going to see thousands and thousands of elk On a layover. Me and some other crew members we actually walked out there, just walked on the side of the road for about a mile, mile and a half, just to go see the elk and be closer to them. It's, you know, it's just amazing.
Speaker 2:If you're lucky too, you can see a moose too, because I seen a moose. Actually that's amazing, yeah, I mean, and that in itself was just amazing seeing it, because they're so large.
Speaker 1:Yeah, they're large and they can be aggressive at times. I wouldn't get that close, yeah, yeah, yeah, the last time I saw a moose I was in Aspen, colorado. I was up in this place called Maroon Bells and there was a moose laying down in the lake there and they wouldn't let us get within maybe a quarter of a mile to it. I mean, we were far away, you could see them, but they didn't want you to get close because they can be really aggressive.
Speaker 2:Now they got a national park there too, right?
Speaker 1:Oh yeah, yeah, the the uh Grand Tetons National Park is right there so you can drive all over the mountains there and see all that stuff. Uh, some very famous, uh, there's a very famous barn there, that um, that uh, I don't know the name of it, but it's been pictured in many pictures and when you go to Jackson hole this is like the picture of the get kind of link, but that's there. The other thing is there is they get a scheme there, snow King.
Speaker 2:Snow King is amazing yeah. They have snowmobile. They have snowmobile competitions there and I was watching snowmobile competitions last year. Unbelievable, these sleds, man. They pay thousands and thousands of dollars for these things, oh wow. But, you know, what's crazy about Jackson Hole is that they only have so many hotels in this place because it is so expensive.
Speaker 1:Yeah well, it's so remote.
Speaker 2:It's expensive, it's very expensive's so remote.
Speaker 1:I mean the whole entire it's very expensive and they only have so many hotels there. Um, we've been uh fortunate to stay in uh snow king the resort there, and uh also uh the wart hotel, yeah yeah, which is a very uh famous classic. Um, every bedroom there has a teddy bear in it.
Speaker 2:Yeah, Snow King is sitting right at the base of the mountain. I mean it's really, really cool. But they have these small motels around there too and, like I said, this place, Jackson Hole, is very expensive. You'll see all these high-end cars parked in these little bitty motels.
Speaker 1:Oh man, parked in these little bitty motels. Oh man, it's a western town in the middle of Wyoming with a lot of very expensive stuff to do.
Speaker 2:Oh, absolutely, man I mean, but it is really really cool, even in the summertime, though Summertime is cool too.
Speaker 1:Oh yeah, you know, in the summertime I've taken, you know, snow King right there. It gets kind of shut down and it's all uh. They have a uh mountain biking and all that stuff on the on the Hill but they also you can take that lift up to the top and see this panoramic view of all the Tetons, which is absolutely magical. I mean, if you get a chance to do that, definitely do that. The other thing that's really like signature to Jackson Hole is the arches of elk antlers. On the square right in the middle of town there's arches of like hundreds of elk antlers and it's not like nothing's inhumane. These elk drop these antlers all over the place in the elk refuges right there, but they collect these up and they made these into arches on their square there in town and they have these arches that everybody takes pictures with, because it's really really cool, I think, even when you come into the airport.
Speaker 2:They do. I was going to say they actually have them in the airport too, and they got a huge moose in the airport. Oh, really, yeah, I mean, you're standing next to it. This thing is a monster. Yeah, I mean, it's real, it's really big. So, uh, one more thing is snake river.
Speaker 1:Oh yeah, the snake river's right there, yep, yep, I mean that's, that's part of that uh barn I was telling you about. It's on the snake river and uh it the picture kind of like I think Ansel Adams was the first one, if you know who Ansel Adams is, very famous photographer black and white pictures, but he took a picture of this A-frame barn. There, that's right, you know, in the background is all the Grand Tetons. It's really a magical place. The other thing about Jackson Hole is there's a lot of like cool knickknack and like it's a real small town so you can walk around and everything. Cool knickknack and like it's a real small town so you can walk around and everything.
Speaker 1:Um, when I'm on layovers there, I always go to this one little uh breakfast place and this is a crazy story too. It happened with me one time I was on this layover. I go to this place called the bunny bakery, the bunny break. It's kind of like tucked back in this little niche area, great, great breakfast food. I mean, it's the place to go.
Speaker 1:So I get up early in the morning and I get a somewhat early flight out of there and I'm sitting there and I'm next to this group that had stayed there and they were on vacation. Well, just the night before and we're talking about, you know, looking at life and all that stuff the night before, as I was sleeping in my hotel, the hotel, like two blocks away, burnt down and these people were sitting next to me that were in this hotel fire and they were explaining how they were crawling down the aisles of the hotel to get out of the hotel and they had lost everything. And it was I'm overhearing this. I'm just sitting in booth by myself eating breakfast and everything, and I literally, and I get up and I'm like I had to say something to him. I said hey, you know, I'm really sorry that's all happening, you know.
Speaker 1:You know, I heard that you're getting ready to go on a flight and you're leaving. What flight are you going on? I heard that you're getting ready to go on a flight and you're leaving. What flight are you going on? And they just so happened to be going on my airline.
Speaker 2:I know that's. It's crazy when things like that happen. They happen all the time. You'll have an interaction with someone and then 30 minutes later that person's on your plane.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah. So I had this whole, this whole group, because their hotel had burnt down the night before. They were on my plane and, um, you know, I gave them the best treatment possible because they're in. All of us can relate to that and you lose something in your life and you're trying to figure out how you're going to recover from this. I mean, all you need is good spirits around you.
Speaker 2:Oh, absolutely. But that goes back to exactly what we were talking about, right, it goes back to when there's a reason for everything. Right, there's a reason. I mean, I just believe that I always will believe that there's a reason for everything, and I love that because we live that every single day in this job.
Speaker 1:Yeah, and the privilege of actually seeing a lot of this stuff in the world.
Speaker 2:Oh, and I mean, I, I, I feel fortunate to have this job. I can't even tell you, because it's been, it's been an incredible experience. Um, I, I love what we do and and I love what we're doing right now. So, you know, let me tell you, folks, I love this quote that we're going to end the show with today. It is self-confidence is a superpower. Once you believe in yourself, magic starts to happen.
Speaker 1:Love that quote Absolutely, Amen. I mean, I'm telling you, if you you look in yourself and believe in yourself, you can do anything in this world.
Speaker 2:And we're doing it right now because, believe it or not, doing this is stepping out of our comfort zone.
Speaker 1:Oh, absolutely. I mean as much as G, and I like to talk.
Speaker 2:We do it with each other Right, and now we're just sharing it with you.
Speaker 1:Yeah, we're sharing it with you and we're very happy that you guys are enjoying our podcast and how things are happening and, just like us, trying to have self-confidence to start doing this show, believe in ourselves and share these stories with you. That's how it happens.
